Things We Do

Being in a machine that is depressed is an undeniable bummer.

It can make it hard to work, hard to play, hard to do anything.

If one has a sunburn we know what to do… and we do it. We don’t get all weird thinking the therapy is too silly to follow through on. No, we apply the lotion, stay out of the sun, drink extra fluids — in general follow all of the tried and true methods for helping the situation — while it somehow fixes it self.

The things we do don’t necessarily “fix” the situation. But they may help while it goes about getting fixed — or in some cases just falling off the radar.

Or, perhaps the things we do are the solution bring about resolution. The thing is we don’t necessary have the tools to separate necessary from helpful, required from fluff.

When one course of action interferes with another course of action then it is imperative to weigh the cost-benefit, risk-reward advisability of each action so that you can make an informed decision about which of the conflicting courses should take precedence.

If actions don’t interfere with each other said analysis is not required. And you can feel confident in progressing based on your own intuition or a flip of the coin. Just make sure you don’t exclude an action that may turn out to be the significant necessary component to the fix.

If this is not clear enough then consider the following. Your doctors and other medical advisers have been charged with primary responsibility for your medical care. Please listen to them and seek whatever advice makes sense from a medical point of view. When all of that is done there is a wealth of alternatives which can help, that can help in a variety of ways.

The message is to not reduce nor limit your options — rather expand your options as your inspiration and intuition dictates.
