A Question:
Someone has expressed a wish to know how they can achieve Total health and heal their chronic (and progressive) condition — and also asking for any clues as to why they must be having it.
One (possible) Answer (out of many alternatives)
Often we think of total health as the absence of all medical conditions.
I can appreciate the wish to reduce one’s health challenges, to lower our medical burden.
I think that wish is a good thing. It is basic to life. It is this wish that motivates us to make decisions.
As a child you learn that fire is hot and will damage our health. We learn how to handle fire so that we can experience its benefits and avoid its dangers.
Other lessons are more difficult to learn. Dental care is one of those things. Hopefully our parents can teach us how to care for the health of our teeth and gums.
With our elders’ help and our own wish to live healthy lives much can be done.
This is a journey. The relative measure of our health varies throughout the day, throughout the month, throughout our life.
We know that at some point our bodies will fail. That is inevitable.
Like any vehicle, even the most robust of wagons, the vehicle will fail at some point.
My wish for myself is that my vehicle gets me to my destination and that my vehicle allows me to accomplish my work during travel to that destination.
To be honest, the human aspect of my nature does not know the details of my destination, nor does it know the details of my work.
How could it?
My body and mind are natives of organic life. They know things of this organic realm.
The nature of my work is not limited to the organic. The essential self, the soul has tasks, work, goals and aims, responsibilities that are from another realm — the non-phenomenal.
My organic self can’t be held accountable for understanding the details of such things.
Fortunately it is not required that the organic self know mentally the details of the work our non-phenomenal self must accomplish.
With love and inner guidance we can cooperate. We can work as a partner with our essential self to accomplish goals far beyond our earthly sight.
When it comes to health, I strive with full vigor to be as healthy as I can. However, I don’t require of myself that I understand why the challenges I am facing are there.
I do my best to deal with them. But, I reserve judgment on whether they are good or bad.
You may recall this YouTube video:
While I may not know the details of what and why, I still hold to my faith (or wish) that in the final analysis the results of my journey through this incarnation will be of benefit to my essential self and ultimately to the absolute. That is what matters most.
I still strive to be healthy. But, I accept that sometimes things happen that I don’t understand.
If I may refer to my own health for a moment, just this past year I had a heart condition that without medical and spiritual intervention would have been fatal.
I am grateful for the medical intervention. And, I am especially grateful for the spiritual assistance.
And, I do not begrudge the event. I would not have voted for it. But, the end result of going through this part of my journey has had a significant impact.
The medical challenge has modified the manifestation of myself in this life. My hope and wish is that this new self will be of service to the absolute and all beings everywhere.
I am just glad that some higher force is making the plans. I would not have been able to voluntarily choose heart disease.
So the question becomes how can we strive to have the best health possible while accepting that we may find ourselves facing challenges without understanding why. Sometimes major challenges.
Fortunately we do not need to understand why we are facing a challenge in order to strive with our full self to deal with it.
Regards,
