Didgeridoo: Day 6

The new didge arrived today.

As you can tell from the video, the didge has an excellent breadth of tones. It doesn’t really show in the picture on the website (Cherry Blossomz <– website here ) but the mouth piece is pretty small. Not too small, just smaller than than behemoth my Bb didge has. The result for me is: it is much easier to implement the circular breathing. Admittedly, I’ve been practicing — hence the  breathing is getting easier in any case. This, goes beyond that. It really is easier. I’ve made strides in just a few minutes on the E that I was struggling with on the Bb. Okay, struggle is a bit of an overstatement. I haven’t been struggling with any of this practice. Just taking it easy and learning as I go. It’s not like the silly javascript I am working on at the moment. That I have to stuff into my noggin asap.

So now, I’m experimenting with different riddims (apparently it is necessary to spell rhythm this way when referring to a didgeridoo) and, working on my breathing.

Lesson 4 and 5 from Didgeridoo Dojo are not available on youtube — thus, I can’t post them here. I went to Didgeridoo Dojo and signed up for the free 7 day trial membership. That gave me a chance to see Lesson 4 and 5, along with any other of the 145 videos I cared to watch. Definitely don’t sign-up for the free membership until you are ready to go past Lesson 3 (free on youtube). You’ll just waste your 7 days.
